The AI scene evolves every time you refresh your feed.

And no one can keep up, especially with all the hype around AI.

The Bald Prompter is a place to learn how to leverage the capabilities of AI models using expert-level prompts.

Most of the content will be centered around LLMs, but there will also be tips for image/audio/video generation models.

Prompt engineering is the language we use to interact with AI models to achieve an increasing number of tasks. Some of the examples involve:

  • Code generation;

  • Synthetic data generation;

  • Data analysis;

  • Written content (emails, blogs, social media posts);

  • Image, sound, and video generation;

  • Designing AI agents in natural language.

If you learn how to write better prompts, you gain a competitive edge. You’ll not only augment your current skills, but you’ll also unlock new ones.

The long-term idea is to learn how to manage AI assistants.

Picture yourself as a manager of a team of AI agents that are extremely capable technically but have limited “planning capabilities.”

Planning is an essential component in every project. It means to break down a long-term goal into small steps. AI agents can’t do that yet. That’s where most of the added value the “human in the loop” brings.

That’s your #1 asset.

The #2 asset is writing effective prompts.

The Bald Prompter is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

What will The Bald Prompter add to your life?

  • You’ll learn the subtle art of Prompt Engineering through weekly tips and ready-to-use prompts.

  • You’ll learn to better identify and remove bullshit. Useful information is often drowned in an ocean of useless noise. You’ll get relevant links and hand-picked recommendations.

  • Beyond hype and fearmongering: Instead of focusing on clickbaity headlines, you’ll learn to leverage AI models the same way an artisan leverages their toolkit —through guides and deep dives.

Who is this Nabil Alouani guy?

Nabil is a 32-year-old bald dude who found home in Paris as an Engineer with a flair for Software and LLM Prompts.

He’s got a thing for food, long walks, and randomness (also known as data).

Nabil’s thinking is inspired by Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Daniel Kahneman — blending philosophy, psychology, and trial and error.

In his career as a Technical Project Manager, Nabil worked with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, Group ADP, and RATP where he built his skills and developped a work philosophy.

“Theory is great. Action is better.”

Nabil likes problems, especially the scary ones.

His latest role (2024) is with La Poste’s IT Department since 2022. Here, he coordinates between various teams to make 80,000 daily users of La Poste’s software more productive (and less annoyed).

Wait, why the heck is he talking about himself in the third person? Because this bald dude believes good writing involves less “I” and more “You.
